'Twilight' fans to convene in Hartford

If the names Edward and Bella make your heart jump in your throat, then you're invited to spend your weekend at the Official Twilight FanConvention at the Hilton Hartford Hotel.

The convention, scheduled today from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., features appearances by "Twilight" celebrities, panel discussions, "Twilight"-themed parties, costume and trivia competitions with prize giveaways, auctions, autographs, photo opportunities, and exclusive footage screenings.
Hannah and Hilly Hindi — a sister duo who produce "The Hillywood Show," an online web series that spoofs various movies including "Twilight" — will host.
"It's such an amazing place for fans to connect," says "Twilight" cast member Tinsel Korey in a phone interview. "You meet other people who love the movie and who have the same shared interest. Maybe others might not get that interest, but people at this convention do."
"Twilight" rose to fame in 2005 with the release of the first of four books written by Stephanie Meyer. The young adult series about vampires, werewolves and love chronicles the life of Isabella "Bella" Swan, who moves to Washington and falls in love with 104-year-old vampire Edward Cullen.
After selling millions of copies, the books were then brought to life on-screen in 2008 with a film version starring Kristen Stewart as Bella and Robert Pattinson as as Edward. Since then, two additional films have been released — "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" in 2009 and "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" in 2010.
The next film, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (Part 1)" will be released Nov. 18; the final film is expected to be released the following year.
Korey, who plays Emily Young in the films, will appear at the convention both days alongside Bronson Pelletier (Jared Cameron) and Booboo Stewart (Seth Clearwater). Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen, appears Sunday only.
