Twilight fans have been treated to Breaking Dawn goodies all week long. First there was a humongous leak of steamy photosthat had to be shared, and now, Entertainment Weekly is pulling out all the stops in their latest issue to bring readers a sneak peek of Bella and Edward's wedding. Specifically, they've got illustrations of what might just be the highly-anticipated bridal gown from author Stephenie Meyer's new book, The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide, which goes on sale April 12. You can check them out on EW.com.
Not only do the illustrations depict Bella the Bride, but they also offer a glimpse of Vampire Bella.
Forget what Kate Middleton's dress is going to look like! I sense that vampire chic will become a hot new bridal style, especially for some Twi-Hard brides.
First of all ... is it just me, or does anyone else get the feeling that this means tween, teen, and even adult women are going to run out and buy themselves gleaming amber-hued contact lenses like the ones "Vampire Bella" wears?
Plus, given illustrator Young Kim's interpretation of Bella's dress, the ever-popular strapless look for brides may fall in favor of old-school LONG SLEEVES. Now, a lot of my friends have been getting married over the past few years, and I haven't seen a bride wear anything but a very minimal lacey cap sleeve -- and that was just one dress of many. Just about every bride I've seen has gone for a halter, straps, or strapless design. But if the dress Kristen Stewart rocks in Breaking Dawn looks anything like this sketch, I'm fashion-predicting that a lot of brides will reconsider bearing their arms. But man, I do hope they'll choose to opt for that look only if they're having a fall or winter wedding! I don't care if you're a vampire ... long-sleeves at a crowded reception = sweat central. Ick!
I'm also diggin' the hair and flowy, shimmery veil -- definitely befitting of a romantic vampire wedding. Same goes for the belt, which seems to have a kind of dated, vintage-y feel, thanks to the sparkly, brooch-like buckle at center.
All in all, it looks like we're in for a classy -- albeit blood-thirsty -- black-tie affair come the release ofBreaking Dawn. I know you can't wait, but hopefully, in the meantime, they'll keep throwing pretty, tempting bones like these our way!
What do you think about Bella's costume illustrations?
