Finally! News on Stephenie Meyer's forthcoming Official Guide for the Twilight Saga is available. Instead of being titled The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, it's now being called The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide because not only will it be an encyclopedic tool, but it'll also include illustrations (including some by Young Kim, the artist behind Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Volume 1).
Here's what Stephenie Meyer had to say about the book, according to a recent press release by publisher Little, Brown Books:
I’m always amazed at how many in-depth questions my readers have about my characters and the world within the Twilight Saga . . . With The Official Illustrated Guide, I hoped we could incorporate as many details as possible, including character histories, like Alice’s back story. I’m thrilled with the different artistic interpretations done by Young Kim and the other talented illustrators, including Bella’s wedding dress. I hope the fans feel it was worth the wait!
The Guide's release date will be April 12, 2011, and it will be priced at $24.99. It'll also be available in e-format. It's already available for pre-ordering on Amazon.com (who is selling it for $14.29, by the way) and others.
The product description for the Guide is as follows: "This must-have hardcover edition--the only official guide--is the definitive encyclopedic reference to the Twilight Saga and provides readers with everything they need to further explore the unforgettable world Stephenie Meyer created in Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, [. . . ] Breaking Dawn [and Bree Tanner]. With exclusive new material, character profiles, genealogical charts, maps, extensive cross-references, and much more, this comprehensive handbook is essential for every Twilight Saga fan."
According to the press release, there'll be near to a hundred full-color photos and illustrations in the book.
